How to Use Smart Columns to Copy Data from Multiple Columns into Any Standard monday.com Board Column

Automate repetitive data entry across columns and reduce manual work.

Transferring values from one column to another manually isn’t just time-consuming—it introduces errors and inefficiencies. As boards grow in complexity, repetitive tasks like copying status updates or numerical values become tedious and error-prone.

Why It Matters

Automating copy-paste logic between columns speeds up workflows and reduces the cognitive load on your team. Instead of chasing down inconsistencies, your boards stay accurate and consistent—automatically.

Real-Life Use Cases

  • Project management: Automatically copy deadlines into different teams’ custom columns
  • Sales operations: Copy lead status and source to unified CRM fields
  • Support teams: Duplicate resolution notes into customer-facing updates
  • Finance: Merge multiple budget input fields into a central cost estimate column
