In Monday.com, managing and preventing duplicates is crucial for keeping your workflow clean and efficient.
monday.com Duplicates Smart Columns feature is designed to solve this problem by automatically identifying and managing duplicate entries on your boards. The Duplicates Smart Column allows you to set specific rules for detecting duplicates, such as matching specific values or checking for changes in key columns. Once duplicates are detected, the system can automatically move the items to designated groups or trigger specific actions based on your custom settings.
Follow these simple steps to add and use the Duplicates Smart Column on your Monday.com board:
Click the button below to install the Duplicates Smart Column.
Navigate to the board where you want to add the Duplicates Smart Column.
Select the column where you want the Duplicates Smart Column to appear.
Click the three dots (…) on the top right of the column header.
From the dropdown menu, choose Column Extensions.
Select Duplicates Smart Column from the available options.
Choose the chips (data values) that you want the system to match when detecting a duplicate entry.
Select the group where you want duplicate items to be moved automatically.
Choose one of the following triggers that will activate the duplicate check:
Item is created – Detect duplicates when a new item is added.
Column is changed – Check for duplicates when a column’s value is updated.
Item is moved to any group – Trigger a duplicate check when the item is moved to a different group.
Status is changed to something – Activate duplicate detection when the item’s status changes.
Once you’ve configured all your preferences, click the Save button to apply the changes.
Now, your board will automatically check for duplicates based on the settings you’ve selected!
