Assign People to Roles in monday.com Using VLookup
VLookup is a powerful tool that can help you streamline your workflow and manage your data more efficiently. In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to use VLookup to assign people to roles in monday.com.
First, you’ll need to install VLookup Integrations in both the source and target boards. To do this:
Go to your “source board” and click on the Integration Center.
Search for VLookup and install the integration.
If you plan to trigger the integration through automation, you’ll need to install the “when item is created (using form or automation)” option.
If you plan to add the integration by hand, you’ll need to install the “when a column value changes, automatically update changes in linked boards” option.
Next, install the VLookup Edit View in both the source and target boards. To do this:
Go to your “source board” and click on the + icon located below the board’s title.
Select the “VLookup Edit View” option and follow the prompts to install the integration.
Create a repository board with a “Person” column and a “Drop-down” or “Status” column.
In the repository board, create items that match between a person and a drop-down selection. This will allow you to easily assign people to specific roles.
Finally, add a VLookup recipe to your target board and connect the repository board to the board you have your form using VLOOKUP. This will allow you to automatically assign people to roles based on the information in your repository board.
